Off to the orchard the little ones go. First Orchard hands toddlers a raven, a basket, and chunky wooden fruit, then asks them to bring in the harvest together before the bird gets there. Rules stay short on purpose, so a two-year-old can follow along with help from an adult.
Sorting the fruit by color and counting pieces as they land in the basket turns game time into early learning without anyone announcing it. Kids also practice waiting for a turn and handling a die. The wooden apples, pears, and basket keep working after the game ends, doubling as play food in a pretend kitchen.
It works as a first board game for ages 2 and up, and again as a quick round when older siblings want to join in. Setup takes barely a minute, which matters more than anything else at that age.
